While comic book and movie fans around the world have managed to enjoy Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, the film indirectly caused an unfortunate evening for one particular family. Apparently a woman named Julie Huff, her boyfriend, and her youngest kid had attending a showing for Secret Life of Pets 2. Her two older kids then took the opportunity to see Avengers: Endgame, which is what led to the surprising incident.
As viewers of Endgame know, the movie is around 3 hours long. It’s a big difference compared to Secret Life of Pets 2 which is an average 90 minutes long. After finishing Secret Life of Pets 2, Julie Huff checked on her other children during the Endgame screening and then departed to visit some stores while waiting for their movie to end. As Huff returned to the theater, she was shocked to see it locked up with all of the lights completely shut down.
Because there were other people in the theater after Huff left, aside from her children being the only ones attending Endgame, she thought everything would be fine. Especially considering that specific showing of Endgame was on the theater’s schedule. But apparently that wasn’t the case.
“Nobody was in there,” Huff said. “I couldn’t get inside, and it was completely dark. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do at first. I thought maybe the theater had called the police to come and pick up my kids.”
Before Huff decided to finally call the police, her kids came rushing to her from the dark. She eventually filed a complaint with AMC Theaters, where she received the following response.
“I do apologize for the inconvenience and the traumatic experience,” the message from AMC Theatre Support said. “Upon further view of your account, I could not access any further recollection of the purchase. Therefore, there is nothing I can do on my end.”
It’s definitely a bizarre situation, and one that should be rectified so that other parents won’t have to deal with the same panic as Huff had to endure.
