The Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought their first three phases, known as ‘The Infinity Saga’, to an end with Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, as we look to the future, Phase 4 and beyond are starting to shape up, albeit slowly. Details are scarce until Marvel hits San Diego Comi-Con and makes a splash at Hall H, but we do know about a few films. Some are sequels, like Dr. Strange 2 and Black Panther 2, and OG Avenger, Black Widow, is getting her own solo flick. We are also getting some new blood, with possibly the biggest darkhorse to come, in The Eternals.
Some casting info has come out over the last month or so, and it has included some huge names. Now, we can add one more to that list.
We have heard of some big casting news with Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, and Richard Madden having signed on to the cosmic MCU adventure. Even global treasure, Keanu Reeves, has been rumored for a possible role. Now, thanks to The Wrap, it seems we can add legendary hispanic actress, Salma Hayek, is in negotiations for a part in the film. No word on exactly which role, but it is a great choice, regardless.
Hayek bursts onto the scene with her unforgettable role in the cult classic, Desperado, and has since appeared in countless fantastic roles, like Traffic, From Dusk til Dawn, Frida, Dogma, and The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Adding yet another Academy Award nominated caliber actor to this film can only help Marvel convey the best film possible, especially with such obscure characters.
