The Monster Hunter RPG games were birthed in 2004 with the first game being released on Playstation 2. Since then Capcom have developed installments of the game for 3DS, Windows, Xbox 360 and most recently Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Following the success of Monster Hunter: World, the franchise is now being adapted for the big screen by Screen Gems and Paul W.S. Anderson.
The never-before-seen trailer teaser was released at the Shanghai International Film Festival where one viewer recorded it. You can watch the recording below:

In the teaser we see Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa in the desert, coming head-to-head with Diablos jumping up from the sand. The trailer ends on a monster lunging towards the screen through a wall of fire. In the movie: “When Lt. Artemis and her loyal soldiers are transported to a new world, they engage in a desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers. “
Although we don’t have a whole of more information on this project it’s extremely likely that the full trailer will be shared soon, especially following the leak of this teaser. Although some people have commented positively about the leaked footage, fans online don’t seem too impressed with the teaser and by the looks of things it seems like people weren’t expecting much from the movie to begin with. Maybe that will change with the release of the full trailer, i would like to think that it won’t be too disappointing because of the casting, but we will have to wait and see.
Milla Jovovich stars alongside Ron Perlman, Tony Jaa, Schelaine Bennett, T.I., Jannik Schümann, Aaron Beelner and Meagan Good. Paul W.S. Anderson is writing, directing and producing the adaptation.
Monster Hunters is due to be released on September 4 2020.
