Bob Clark’s 1974 slasher, Black Christmas, already inspired one remake in 2006. The last remake of the same name was mediocre at best but now we have exciting news about another attempt. It has been revealed that horror giant Blumhouse is bringing us a new take on Black Christmas in time for the holidays this year!

It will be exciting to see what Blumhouse do with the story, especially considering the horror gold we are used to seeing from the company. It certainly won’t be hard to tell a better version of the story than we got from Glen Morgan.
In the original story, a group of sorority girls are stalked by a stranger during Christmas break. In the 2006 remake the story takes place on Christmas Eve when an escaped maniac returns to his childhood home, which is now a sorority house, and begins to murder the sorority sisters one by one.
In the upcoming remake…
Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. One by one, sorority girls on campus are being killed by an unknown stalker. But the killer is about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t willing to become hapless victims as they mount a fight to the finish.
Black Christmas will star Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon , Brittany O’Grady , Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt. Writer Sophia Takal is directing the script penned with April Wolfe. The movie is produced by is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions and Ben Cosgrove and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer. Executive producers are Greg Gilreath and Zac Locke of Divide/Conquer.
Black Christmas will be released on Friday the 13th of December this year.
