Although it seemed that the reboot of the 1994 film The Crow was pretty much dead, Relativity Studios have once again gotten the ball rolling.
Producer Edward R. Pressman said the following to Variety:
“Relativity is putting up a good amount of money to do that. They are putting up significant holding money. They are moving ahead in a constructive and positive way and Ryan Kavanaugh seems totally committed to this theme.”
Although fans don’t want to see The Crow rebooted – creator James O’ Barr does. While he is said to have loved the Brandon Lee film, he wants something closer to his original comic book. He’s said to be very involved with the upcoming reboot and while we can all agree that the 1994 film was a classic and that Lee’s performance was legendary – why not let O’Barr have something that is more accurate to his comic? Given the backstory of why Barr created the comic in the first place, I’d say he deserves to see it come to life.
