Yesterday morning, Marvel released a collection of character posters for the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame featuring the characters we can expect to see in the film as well as some of whom we lost as part of the decimation we saw in the finale of Avengers: Infinity War. Eagle Eyed fans will have noticed that the characters who were turned to dust last year were featured on the black and white posters, whilst those that lived to fight another day are in full colour. Now I can imagine that this amount of subtlety may have gone over a few of your heads, but rest assured this is in fact Marvel confirming who we can expect to see in the sequel and who ended up on Thanos’ hit list.
So which side of the afterlife do our favorite characters fall?
So, as previously stated the posters in color represent the characters who survived the decimation. These include Iron Man, Black Widow, Rocket Raccoon, Ant-Man, Okoye, Captain Marvel, Nebula Bruce Banner, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and War Machine.

Interestingly the posters also revealed the fates of several other characters who were left in limbo at the end of the previous film. These include Pepper Potts who has long been rumored to appear, Stark’s loyal bodyguard Happy Hogan, Dr Strange’s fellow sorcerer Wong and perhaps most surprising Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. Whilst these are all characters who were rumored to be appearing based on set pictures or action figures in the toyline, having this as official confirmation certainly changes things.
Unfortunately, the posters also remind us of those we lost, including Groot, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Drax, Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Bucky, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Mantis, Loki, Nick Fury, Gamora, Vision and The Wasp – who was seen being turned to ash in the post credit scene of Ant-Man and The Wasp. The biggest surprise however is the confirmation that T’Challa’s sister Shuri was one of the characters who unfortunately didn’t make it, something that the internet hasn’t taken lightly – even though it was hinted at as far back as the first trailer on the TV screen in the Avengers compound.
These posters certainly do the job of letting us know who we can expect to see square up against Thanos for Round Two when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
What do you think? Do you like these posters? Is there any surprises for you here? Let us know below!
