Another day, another Avengers: Endgame theory. The latest Fan theory addition implies that an underrated character will appear to save most of our favorite characters in the new film.
After the ending of the first Endgame trailer, the fans know that Ant-man will have some significance in defeating Thanos. With theories saying the film will feature both the Quantum Realm and time travel, Scott Lang is sure to be involved.
In the recent Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Janet Van Dyne confirms the existence of something called time vortexes. These are present within the Quantum Realm and supposedly provide a way to travel back in time. Fans then went on to conclude that Lang will lead the remaining Avengers through these vortexes to time travel and defeat Thanos.
However, many are questioning how Ant-Man will possibly know to do all of this. A theory from Reddit user, JoshAndMarie, suggested that he will get the information from Ghost, the enemy in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Although, some believe he could go to Bill Foster who teaches about the Quantum Realm. Despite this, the Reddit user goes on to say Foster’s classes are just theory based.
Ghost’s impractical state in Ant-Man and the Wasp means she could have valuable knowledge. The snap dusted Foster, a father-like figure. This means Ghost would, therefore, seek Scott for help to potentially get him back.
The entire theory can be read below:
I have no doubt AntMan will be very important during Avengers: Endgame, but he will need to owe his success to a lesser popular character, Ava Star (Ghost).
In order for The Avengers to save the day, they’ll no doubt utlilze both the quantum realm (confirmed by the directors) and time travel (pretty much confirmed by the actors). Now, Ant Man might “stumble upon” the solution, by more realistic is he’ll figure it out based off what he learned before the snap. So who will teach him the most important aspects of the quantum realm?
Hank Pym and Bill Foster have mostly head knowledge of the quantum realm and little to no actual application. Sure, Foster lectures his class about being “both in and out of phase with multiple parallel realities,” but he himself doesn’t have experience doing such. I don’t think their teaching would be all that critical.
Next is Janet Van Dyne. Now what she has to say will be extremely important. Her applicable knowledge of the quantum realm was made evident at the end of Ant Man and the wasp not just knowing about the Quantum realm– but using it’s affects in the current realm.
BUT Ava Star will be more crucial, why?
She knows what it’s like to be in flux between the two dimensions
She knows what it’s like to be in either dimensions separately
She has both head knowledge and applicable knowledge of the quantum realm and only got smarter after AntMan.
She doesn’t need a big role with lots of screen time, but she should have an important role none the less. She is (probably) not snapped away and could help AntMan along the way (can she even get snapped away? Is the considered part of this universe if she keeps going in and out?). If AntMan needed a go-to for quantum realm questions, she would be the one to ask. But more importantly, She’d also know where the van is and could track it down– possibly even go inside the quantum realm using the tech.
At this point we also know she isn’t really evil, and would likely join the fight to save the others. I could imagine her pushing through the pain of going back to her inter-dimensional illness as part of a plan to have her help. Though it’d be cool for her to somehow get Thanos to tear himself between two dimensions and be defeated, more realistically she’d play a small role and and ultimately sacrifice herself.
I wouldn’t underestimate Ava Star. That would be a twist no one would see coming.
