Captain Marvel is on the minds of pretty much every MCU fan (in addition to Avengers 4, of course) as it’s the next film we’ll get from Marvel Studios. To date, aside from leaked set photos and videos, we’ve not been given any type of official promotion for the film. That has changed, as we now have the first look at Brie Larson in the movie – and it’s expected to break the internet, as the actress suggested yesterday.
The future is female! Here’s your exclusive first look at @BrieLarson as @CaptainMarvel, the galaxy’s newest — and most powerful — star: https://t.co/EKfHhGIhUa pic.twitter.com/xhD00bdfF0

*Update* Following this reveal, an actual first look at the film was released – with a ton of new images and plot details!

The actress tweeted the announcement yesterday:
Hey @EW I’m bored. Wanna break the Internet tomorrow?
— Brie Larson (@brielarson) September 5, 2018
While many were expecting a trailer, that could actually end up coming quite soon. Here’s hoping we do get it, as Larson’s announcement may have been more exciting than the actual reveal that we were treated to today.
The film’s synopsis:
The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters everywhere on March 8th, 2019.
