Controversial Video Breaks Down Why Marvel Movies Are Better Than DC Movies

    By Vince HooverJune 4, 2018
Marvel Movies DC Movies MCU DCEU

Ever since the inception of the DCEU, there has been a long standing debate between fans over which Cinematic Universe is better: The Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DC Extended Universe.

Now, to be perfectly honest, I do not think there is any real debate here at all. Whilst not every film in the MCU has been a huge critical success, the consistent positive reviews and blockbuster success absolutely dwarfs the DCEU and its less than stellar success rate. As a fan of both comic book universes, (and particularly a Superman geek), I want to see BOTH sets of films succeed and represent the characters to the best of their abilities.

Unfortunately, it just isn’t happening as far as DC is considered. Besides Wonder Woman, the films of the DCEU have underwhelmed at the box office, as well as to the fans themselves. Touted in controversy and a drive to distant themselves from the style of the MCU, DC movies have all the potential, but simply don’t reach it. But why exactly?

While it’s hard to pinpoint the exact reasons for DC’s downfall in comparison to the MCU, Evan Puschak has created a montage of clips to help support a theory of his, and it’s the action scenes. Puschak breaks down the formula that the MCU uses when it comes to these actions scenes and what makes them successful. It also gives you the DCEU contrast and why they just don’t seem to work to audiences.

A self-denoted DC Comics preferred fan, Evan shares his contempt with the rather large consensus of audience members for the DC movies to date. Check out the video below:
