In today’s day and age, virtually everyone has access to share an opinion or a belief that they believe is right. Social Media has given us that. So it should come as no surprise that when it comes to the gun control debate – Chris Evans – aka Captain America himself, has some strong opinions on the matter.
He recently tweeted about the massive school walkouts that took place today across the country:
The young people of this generation give me so much hope. Are u listening @GOP? Time for gun laws to change. And for you 2A-ers, relax, no one is saying you cant own a gun, your right to ‘bear arms shall not be infringed’. Just looking for common sense reform! #NationalWalkoutDay https://t.co/jB7NCb0MJj

Fellow Marvel star Zendaya also tweeted:
I am so proud, I stand with every student today. #NationalWalkoutDay ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

It’s not the first time stars of The Avengers have gone political. Mark Ruffalo regularly discusses politics on his Twitter, and even had a strong message for those who tell him he needs to shut up:
“This is America, part of our democracy is to be able to exchange ideas openly and freely, and I always find it laughable when people tell me to shut up, you know, ‘you’re just an actor. Actors and artists tend to spend a lot of time working with charities, they spend a lot of time giving their money, their time, their selves, to a lot of good causes. So we’re enough to do that, we’re enough to sell watches — you want us to speak up when it’s making you money, but you want us to shut up when it challenges certain cultural beliefs or political beliefs that don’t align with what we see as a healthy society.”
Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman was also very outspoken as well:
“I don’t think that you can use our current president as a barometer for where the entire country is. I think what you can do is you can say the country is in a place right now where he is giving voice to white supremacy, he has made it OK for white supremacy to exist because he hasn’t said that it’s wrong.”
Whatever your thoughts are on the matter, there is one thing we can all agree on: Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th – and we’ll all be there.
