Our first look at Sony’s Venom movie trailer may comesooner than any of us had anticipated. Actor Tom Hardy who portrays Eddie Brock and his alternate persona Venom already revealed on his social media that filming had wrapped last week. With the movie now moving into post-production, it’s been rumored that a trailer will launch with Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther film.
While the release date is subjected to rumor, we do know that a trailer has been completed and prepared for the film. According to the Manitoba Film Classification Board, the trailer was rated PG, indicating a light look at what’s intended to be an R-rated Venom adaptation.
Regardless of what the footage contains, it’ll be interesting to see what tidbits from the film will get revealed. Even if we don’t get to see Tom Hardy’s complete appearance as Venom, it’s going to be quite the treat to get a trailer this early. It’s almost shocking how fast Venom was announced, shot, and now going to be released.
Of course, there’s still very little about the film we still know about. Aside from the fact that the story is inspired by the Lethal Protector series of comics, and features Eddie Brock’s ex-wife – as well as Carnage, so there’s quite a lot of speculation as to how it’ll play out. Only time will tell, and hopefully the upcoming trailer will give us a better idea.
On the movie, producer Matthew Tolmach said:
“Eddie Brock is an incredible character and a gritty, real, authentic, funny but also embittered character and a truth-teller who has made mistakes. You know, Tom… it’s like a master class watching him act every day and he’s such a risk taker and he loved this character.”
Venom hits theaters October 5, 2018.
