A new motion poster has been released for the upcoming Predator sequel, following the release of the first poster.
The design certainly isn’t what you’d expect from a Predator film, and yet it does remind me a lot of the artwork for Predator 2 with the use of lightning and an apparent city setting. This mix of both new and old could really be what the franchise needs, and Fox Studios’ head Stacey Snider seems to agree.
Snider recently told Variety:
“We’ve got a Predator film coming out that is unexpected and utterly fresh. I just imagined that it would take 500 hours to read the script — that it would be interior jungle, exterior more jungle and then fighting happens, but Emma [Watts] went out and recruited Shane Black. From the first page, it didn’t read like a Predator film. It’s set in suburbia. There’s a little boy and his dad at the center of the action.”
Let’s just hope the film manages to live up to expectations and gives us not just our beloved killer extraterrestrials, but a strong story to move them into a new era of filmmaking.
The Predator will be released August 3, 2018 directed by Shane Black starring Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhode, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane, Strerling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Niall Matter, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Edward James Olmos and Jacob Tremblay.
