Rumor: Daniel Craig Could Play Mr. Sinister in GAMBIT Movie

    By Frank PalmerOctober 3, 2017

The Gambit movie with Channing Tatum is one that has been in development hell for quite some time now. It appears, though, that it could be moving forward with a pretty big name in a villainous role, as it’s being rumored that James Bond star Daniel Craig could play Mr. Sinister in the film.

A new rumor from Splash Report claims:

THERE ARE “CONVERSATIONS” ABOUT LOCKING UP DANIEL CRAIG TO BE NATHANIEL ESSEX, A.K.A. MR. SINISTER IN GAMBIT AND ALSO IN OTHER X-MEN MOVIES.

This would be interesting and would definitely be a way to convince Marvel fans that FOX is actually interested in making the Gambit movie work.

Back in August, director Doug Liman, who left the film, had the following to say about the X-Men spin-off movie:

“I look for a personal connection to the movies I make and it may not be immediately obvious…In every story, I have a personal connection… With ‘Gambit,’ I just never found that personal way in.”

    Tatum said:

“We lit a fuse on the first one and just blew it completely out of the water. I think we got lucky – we got hit with some setbacks and it was all for a good reason. We were trying to do something completely different. We were trying to do something that this genre of movie hasn’t seen before. We kept running into the same problems, and then Deadpool and Logan came through and kicked the doors down. Now we’re really getting to do some of the things we’ve always wanted to do with the script – we’ve just sort of started over.”

    Hopefully it’ll work out.
