Earlier we reported that Josh Trank’s behavior on the set of Fantastic Four was “destructive” and the reason that the reboot failed for the most part. Well, yet another source has come forward (in a day of endless Fantastic Four reports) and detailed Fox’s role in the the failure of the film:
New sources on the situation continue to come forth, with some close to the movie arguing that whatever frustrations and conflicts Trank faced from the studio, they were normal parts of the development and production of a tentpole movie with a budget north of $100 million. Some theorize Trank was a talented storyteller but not nearly seasoned enough to manage the studio’s concerns, which led to a loss of confidence from Watts, and simmering tensions between the director and Fox.
I think it’s safe to say that this film was DOOM-ed from the start. Pun intended.
