While we don’t have any idea what the story for the next season of American Horror Story is, we do have a look now at the season’s intro. And it’s as stylistically creepy and intricate as ever. But of course the video doesn’t give many plot hints as much as it does imagery regarding the season’s tone.
There’s plenty of clowns, as noted in the other promos for season 7. The video also makes a political statement with figures wearing Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks. There’s even a blood-drenched flag and plenty of bees.
Series regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will be playing characters name Kai and Ally. The two are reported to have “a love story for the ages.”
The cast also includes Billy Eichner as Harrison Wilton; Alison Pill as Ivy Mayfair-Richards; Billie Lourd as Winter Anderson; Cheyenne Jackson as Dr. Rudy Vincent; and Colton Haynes as Detective Samuels. Frances Conroy, Lena Dunham, Emma Roberts, Adina Porter, Mare Winningham and Leslie Grossman also feature.
The previous season of the anthology series was titled Roanoke, and following “a disturbing incident, a young couple move into a seemingly perfect home built in the 18th century. However, the building’s close proximity to the site of the Lost Colony’s disappearance and with horrific events happening at the house the couple start to sense something dark underneath the facade.”
It’s unknown if anything from the previous plot line will carry over into this one.
The 11-episode season will premiere on FX on September 5, 2017.
