Yesterday, fans of rock music were shocked and saddened to learn that Linkin Park front-man Chester Bennington committed suicide at the young age of 41.
The news came only a couple of months after Chris Cornell had killed himself in that same exact way.
The following story is so bizarre and out there, that, we would file it more under the lines of being a ‘Conspiracy Theory’.
A new report suggests that Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell were both murdered because they were about to expose ‘Entertainment Industry Pedophiles’:
Police have reportedly launched a murder investigation into Chester Bennington’s death with insiders believing it is “extremely likely” the Linkin Park frontman was killed in eerily similar circumstances to his close friend Chris Cornell.
Detectives are looking into whether Chester Bennington was murdered, with the death scene later arranged to resemble a suicide. They have put a team of investigators in place and are refusing to rule out a criminal homicide charge.
“Murders are sometimes made to look like suicides. We think he was murdered, we just have to find out who was behind it,” said a police source.
The report goes on to state:
The parallels between the two deaths are astonishing. The close friends, who were working on exposing notorious entertainment industry pedophiles, died in the same way – with Bennington’s death taking place on what would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.
Snopes is denouncing the news as fake news, reporting the following:
YourNewsWire is not a reliable source of information — they regularly post inaccurate articles and unfounded conspiracy theories. There is no evidence that Bennington or Cornell was murdered in an effort to cover up a debunked pedophile sex ring.
They also said:
It’s unclear what “detectives” YourNewsWire could possibly have obtained such a quote from. Palos Verdes Estates police have not commented on the case and have instead referred all inquiries to the coroner’s office. The police department for that small coastal community south of Los Angeles contracts with the much larger Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to handle homicides, and the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau told us they did not respond to Bennington’s death. The quote doesn’t appear in any other news report about the incident.
We have spoken to all the agencies that have jurisdiction over Bennington’s home and can confirm that, contrary to what YourNewsWire reported, law enforcement has not said Bennington was murdered.
As far as potential theories go, this one is pretty out there.
It’s easy to see why they’d want to expose something like this (what normal person wouldn’t?) as Chester Bennington revealed back in 2011 that he himself was molested:
“If I think back to when I was really young, to when I was being molested, to when all these horrible things were going on around me, I shudder.”
With the singer dying on what would have been Chris Cornell’s birthday, there would undoubtedly be theories created, as this is still shocking on so many levels.
Bennington penned the following letter to Cornell after he committed suicide back in May:
“I dreamt about the Beatles last night. I woke up with Rocky Raccoon playing in my head and a concerned look my wife’s face. She told me my friend had just passed away. Thoughts of you flooded my mind and I wept. I’m still weeping, with sadness, as well as gratitude for having shared some very special moments with you and your beautiful family. You have inspired me in many ways you could never have known. Your talent was pure and unrivalled. your voice was joy and pain, anger and forgiveness, love and heartache all wrapped up into one. I suppose that’s what we all are. You helped me understand that. I just watched a video oof you singing “A Day In The Life” by the Beatles and thought of my dream. I’d like to think you were saying goodbye in your own way. I can’t imagine a world without you in it. I pray you find peace in the next life. I send my love to your wife and children, friends and family.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your life.
With all my love.
Your friend,

For someone that was a fan of the music of both bands, I can see how people just simply wouldn’t want to believe that something so awful could happen. Chris Benoit is a good example of this. Wrestling fans to this day still don’t believe that he murdered his family and then killed himself, and various theories (that definitely make you think) still come out to this day.
R.I.P. to both men.
