A show that definitely didn’t have great reviews from fans or critics (especially when you compare the other Marvel Netflix shows) was Marvel’s Iron Fist.
Many weren’t sure if there was even going to be a second season. Luke Cage actor Mike Colter had the following to say about it:
“I hope so. I really hope so. I think moving forward to Season 2, we’ll see something like that … Personally, I really hope we get the wispy kind of ripples that come out at the back of the mask. I think that’s a super cool effect. I think it’d be really annoying, actually, the logistics of it but I think it would look really cool.”
Well, at San Diego Comic Con during The Defenders panel, the second season was officially confirmed!
There will be some type of official announcement shortly.
A lot of the criticisms of Marvel’s Iron Fist, were necessary. There were some, however, that weren’t. Like the idea that Finn Jones’ casting was whitewashing. It wasn’t. Danny Rand was white in the comics.
The “blacklash” from Social Justice Warriors, however, seemed to get to Finn Jones, which prompted him to blame Donald Trump on the controversy:
“I think the world has changed a lot since we were filming that television show. I’m playing a white American billionaire superhero, at a time when the white American billionaire archetype is public enemy number one, especially in the US. We filmed the show way before Trump’s election, and I think it’s very interesting to see how that perception, now that Trump’s in power, how it makes it very difficult to root for someone coming from white privilege, when that archetype is public enemy number one.”
Hopefully, Season 2 of the series goes a lot smoother.

We’ll see Finn Jones’ Iron Fist next on The Defenders when it premieres next month.
