One of the highlights of this year’s superhero epic, Logan, has to be Dafne Keen as Laura AKA X-23. Many critics agreed the young star managed to hold her own against such veterans as Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart and some even saw her as the highlight of the film.
A new interview has revealed we nearly had a very different actress in line for the part. Read on to find out more.
In a recent interview with Variety, Millie Bobby Brown revealed that she actually auditioned for the role of Laura with both Jackman and the film’s director James Mangold.
Brown told the publication:
“I was like, ‘It’s going to be amazing, I’m going to really prepare,’ and I sat in my room reading the lines. Honestly, for me, I felt so — I felt an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold sitting right in front of me.”
Whilst Brown would likely have done a great job as the character, it’s now hard to imagine anyone else in the role besides Keen. Brown became a fan favorite for her role as Eleven in the cult Netflix series, Stranger Things, a role she will be reprising later this year when the shows second season hits the streaming service.
Keen’s return has yet to be confirmed, but producer Hutch Parker believes it will be in a solo X-23 film as opposed to joining one of the other films in the X-Men franchise.
What do you think? Do you think Brown would have made a better Laura? Would you like to see more of the character in the future? Let us know below!
