Fans of the Dark Horse comic ‘Hellboy’ and its two film adaptations have been split with the recent announcement of the movies reboot. On one hand, after almost 10 years, a new Hellboy movie is (finally) on the way. On the other, fan-favorite director Guillermo del Toro and star Ron Perlman will not be returning. Among those displeased with the events is actor Jeffrey Tambor.
Tambor starred as Tom Manning, the Director of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense in both Hellboy films. With the announcement of the impending reboot, he took to Twitter to express his distaste, not with the film itself but the alleged disloyalty by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
He tweeted:
“Mike, I may be unavailable… Nice on the loyalty to Ron and Guillermo, by the way.”
After pressure from fellow film industry professionals, Tambor also stated:
“Number of nudges via email to go easy on Mikey this am. Mikey should thank Ron and Doug and Guillermo del Toro in his press releases as a preface.”
While some users pointed out that Tambor was airing “dirty laundry”, he clarified:
“All Mikey had to do was a one sentence (saying) thank you to Guillermo, Ron and Doug. It’s all context, guys. And professionalism.”
After such an outpouring of support for Perlman and del Toro, both responded on Twitter.
I LOVE you too Perl- https://t.co/94ljKRb6VI

“Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen” does not have a release date as of yet but David Harbour (Stranger Things) is attached to star as Hellboy and Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones) will direct.
