It’s hard to believe that The Fast And The Furious has reached its 8th installment into the franchise and has yet to show any signs of slowing down. Continuing to dominate at the box office, it’s no surprise that the property has become Universal’s biggest franchise of all time. After the untimely death of Paul Walker in 2013, it was strongly believed that Furious 7 would be the last installment in the series however it seems that Universal have decided to continue on with their hottest property.
With Vin Diesel recently announcing that a 9th and 10th movie will be hitting theatres on April 19th, 2019 and April 2nd, 2021, it seems as if there’s still plenty more mileage left in the tank. There’s also been rumours to suggest that Universal are working on some potential spin offs which is hardly a shock considering the star talent that’s been involved thus far.
Let’s take a step back and concentrate on what we do know. We know that the 8th installment will be hitting theatres on April 17th, 2017 and we now also know the title, which has recently been revealed through the teaser trailer. Unfortunately – the title is pretty naff.
The Fate Of The Furious.
Yeah, no joke.
With plenty of stunts and high octane action on show, it seems as if the Furious franchise is still keeping to that tried and tested method of out performing the previous entry with even higher stakes and more ridiculous set pieces. So far the formula has worked with both fans and critics alike however it’ll be interesting to see if they’ll be able to keep it up. With the full trailer arriving on December 11th, it’ll be fun to see what worldwide, rollicking adventures they have in store for us next.
