With the slate that Marvel announced last October, you’d think they’d have plenty of awesome things to show at the San Diego Comic Con this year, but that’s not the case. Earlier this week it was announced that Marvel would not be showing up in Hall H to tease the fanboys and girls, and in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studio Head Kevin Feige explained why:
“It was just timing. We had done that [media] event in October, when we announced so much. Everyone knows what we’re doing over the next few years.”
Over the past few years, Marvel have been one of the companies to see, last year bringing out Josh Brolin with the Infinity Gauntlet, and announcing the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, before the first one had been released.
With Ant-Man being released very soon, and Captain America: Civil War in the midst of production, along with the news of Spiderman casting, Marvel’ Phase III productions have been very busy in recent weeks, but as Feige mentions below, if you don’t own the show, why bother?
“I really have a belief: If you can’t go to Comic-Con and over deliver, then don’t go.”
Marvel TV will still be there, hopefully with news about the next seasons of Agents of Shield, Agent Carter and their joint Netflix series so keep it peeled for news coming out of the Con.
