Mysteries abound with this image that was recently shared, and then strangely deleted by the Russo brothers; directors of the last two Captain America films and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel.
In a movie that is sure to have a TON of Marvel characters, who’s to say that there couldn’t be room for one more? And by one more, I mean – one of the most popular villains in Marvel history.
Could Doctor Doom be coming to the MCU?!

Now what we do know about it, is that it’s a behind-the-scenes look at Infinity War. That’s harmless enough; but what caused fans to start theorizing is the fact that the image was subsequently removed, suggesting that too much may have inadvertently been revealed.
Naturally, comic book fans are a decidedly dedicated bunch, and already rumors are flying about over what secrets could be found within this seemingly harmless set photo. With the prevailing theory being that this photo in fact depicts…
Latveria.
And not just Latveria in general, but specifically the home of Doctor Doom. The giant stone castle in which he resides in the comics.
It must be noted that this is speculation, and severely unlikely. But at the same time, how awesome would it be to see Doctor Doom finally done on the big screen right?!
And unlikely though it may be, in recent years Fox and Marvel have been making pretty good deals with each other, such as the many Quicksilvers (confusing at that deal may be) and the swapping over of Negasonic Teenage Warhead with Ego the Living Planet. It’s not entirely unfair to suggest a deal could have been made to allow Doctor Doom into the MCU.
This could of course open the gateways for having the Fantastic Four and the X-Men join the MCU as well, (especially given that both franchises are reportedly getting a clean reboot by Fox anyway).
However, what is probably more likely, is that it’s just a normal set photo from one of the many big locations that the Avengers will be taken to in Infinity War. And when has speculating this early about a major blockbuster ever gone well?
But still, at the same, Doctor Doom in the MCU still sounds like a dream. An awesome dream! But a dream nonetheless.
