It was rumored for a long while that Batman star, Michael Keaton’s role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming was that of the villain Adrian Toomes, AKA The Vulture. Now, thanks to Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige, we finally have confirmation of his role. Read on to find out more.
In an interview with the TorontoSun, Executive Producer Feige was questioned about the villains we can expect in future Marvel films, to which he responded:
“We’ve had a wish list, and most of them in the near-term are coming together. Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man [Homecoming] is something. And of course, finally, we’re showcasing Josh Brolin’s Thanos (in Avengers: Infinity War). We’re looking forward to that very much.”
As previously stated, this has been rumored for a long while, so this news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans. What would have been interesting would have been the revelation as to who Logan Marshall-Green is set to play, especially since it is also rumored to be that of a villain.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Tom Holland is set to return as the titular hero when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7th 2017.
