No Marvel, Sony or Paramount At San Diego Comic Con

    By Frank PalmerJune 19, 2015

Last year, Sony skipped the Comic Con in San Diego, and they are doing the same this year, and Paramount and Marvel are joining them.

According to sources, Sony and Paramount don’t have any material to promote that would interest the ravenous fanboys and girls of Hall H.

Marvel, who last missed the Con in 2011, won’t be showing any new footage, or rolling out Tom Hiddleston just because he’s Loki.

“It wasn’t a knock against Comic-Con,” one spokesperson said, “the film cycles just didn’t allow it.”

It can cost a lot of money to bring films and actors to SDCC, and with Ant Man coming out in the next month and Captain America; Civil War currently shooting, it does make sense to stay away.

But don’t worry that there won’t be any comic book movie news coming out of the SDCC; Warner Bros and DC will be there, showing off Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and giving more insight into their burgeoning shared universe. Fox will likely be showing off their Fantastic Four reboot, and hopefully some news on the next X-Men film, Age Of Apocalypse.

San Diego Comic Con will be held from July 9th to the 12th at the San Diego Convention Center. Keep it peeled to Peel The Orange for all the latest news to come out of the SDCC.
