This T-Rex Commercial Is The Saddest Yet Most Uplifting Thing You’ll See Today

Being a T-Rex can be hard. You were once the most feared creature on the planet – and then boom.

25 million hits in two days.

This particular T-Rex was mocked for having short, little and useless arms and goes into a deep depression. That is, of course, until he gets a new Audi that has a Piloted Driving feature.

It’s a pretty unique idea for a commercial and one that is executed to perfection – as head of VFX Florian Zachau explains:

The biggest challenge was to make the dinosaur look depressed. A T-Rex is a rather stiff character and there is not a lot of variety on expression and gestures the animators could use in order to bring out the sadness. The interview scene in particular was not easy. There is a very thin line between making it look natural rather than awkward.”

I think they pulled it off.
