Last week, an open letter from an alleged disgruntled ex-employee of Warner Bros. was making the rounds on the internet. The letter claimed that not only was the upcoming Wonder Woman film ‘another mess’ but also that the studio was well aware of this fact. Well, a new rumor seems to cast doubt on that claim as it sounds as though Warner Brothers have plenty of faith in the film’s director – Patty Jenkins.
As part of a recent information leak on the Internet message board, 4chan, a rumor has come to light that the director is being courted to direct the upcoming Justice League sequel. The post simply said:
Patty Jenkins might direct Justice League II.
Of course based on the source, we shouldn’t take this rumor as 100% fact at this point.
This is interesting for two reasons. The first is that this appears that Warner Bros. are satisfied enough with what they have seen of Jenkins’ work on Wonder Woman that they are willing to give her the reigns of one of the bigger films in their upcoming slate.
The second reason is that this seems to confirm that Zack Snyder will have a much smaller role in the universe in the coming future. Something which some fans have been asking for since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was met with lukewarm reviews back in March.
With the first Justice League film still over a year away, it’s unlikely that we’ll be hearing any official confirmation in the near future. You can check out Jenkins first foray into the DCEU when Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2nd, 2017.
