Kevin Smith has become somewhat of a controversial figure as of late, but one thing which can be agreed upon is that the man loves his comics and by extension – comic book movies. So it should come as no surprise that the Clerks director has plenty to say about the recently released Suicide Squad.
Taking to his official Facebook page, the director had a passionate response to the film. Speaking about both the film and his respect for the film’s director David Ayer, Smith posted:
While it seems very apparent that Smith did really enjoy the film (an opinion that many critics don’t seem to be sharing based on the film’s 27% Rotten Tomatoes score) it should be noted that he has come under fire in the past for his negative response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He did later go back to explain that a second viewing changed his opinion, so maybe he realized that he better keep those DC bridge’s un-burnt.
