HBO has announced that production on Game of Thrones 7th Season will begin this summer and that the show will launch in Summer of 2017 – which is a slight delay from the usual March/April premiere frame.
Here’s what HBO Programming President Casey Bloys had to say about it:
Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” he said. “Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule.”
So, it looks like GOT fans will have to wait even longer to see more episodes of the show.
