Yesterday, we got our first look at Keinyan Lonsdale in his Kid Flash duds. Lonsdale introduced us to Wally West last season, as Joe’s estranged son. This created some jealousy against the son that Joe did raise.

Amongst those pictures were Lonsdale walking around set with his new costume, along with Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen, and another costumed individual. Who might that be?
Well, some believe he may be the Black Racer, a.k.a Black Flash. If he is indeed such character, we did already see him in the Season Two finale. As a sort of grim reaper, he whisked Zoom away after Flash had defeated him.
According to The DC Comics Encyclopedia:
“When the New Gods arose from the ashes of their predecessors, so rose the Black Racer, an elemental force capable of dealing death with a single touch. When the Fourth World’s battles spilled on to Earth, the Racer was drawn to the planet and to the body of paralyzed Vietnam veteran Willie Walker. Walker became one with the Racer, his spirit now commingled with this harbinger of death.”
Black Racer made his first appearance in the pages of New Gods. Jack Kirby was well-known for helping Stan Lee create Marvel Comics. But his tenure with DC was just as influential. Darkseid, and other elements of his Fourth World, seem to be the driving force behind the cinematic DC Universe with Batman v Superman, Justice League, and beyond.
Gustin had mentioned that the Season Three villain will not be a metahuman. Just as Stephen Amell stated that his antagonist wouldn’t be either.
Now, after Arrow lost many of its viewers for the heavy focus on “Ollicity,” it also perturbed fans with their focus on magic. Therefore, a focus on more grounded, street-level elements will attempt to bring those fans of the first couple seasons back.
But, as The Flash himself is a metahuman, he needs to go up against somebody he can’t easily give whiplash. Black Racer isn’t a metahuman, persay. He is more of a supernatural element; which may be what Arrow is steering away from. But that doesn’t say anything for The Flash.
How will Black Racer be involved with this Flashpoint Paradox that Barry set up in the Season Finale? How will Kid Flash fit into it, for that matter? Perhaps, as Season Two focused on parallel worlds, this next season will deal with multiple timelines. Somewhere along the road to saving his mother, he’ll pick up Kid Flash (whether from his home timeline, or another). In the meantime, maybe Black Racer will be chasing them for messing with time.
