It’s the in-between-seasons season. So you know what that means. Stars and showrunners from our favorite programs are inciting us to continue watching. New casting announcements are made, attached to familiar characters.
Arrow has been at it, giving us news every time we turn around. From WWE superstar Cody Rhodes’s involvement, to further connections with Green Lantern, things are looking great.
Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, used the preferred method of teasing — Twitter — for further news:
Here’s your S5 poster.

You may notice that the scruffy look is back. In the flashbacks, Ollie had looked closer to his comic book counterpart than his present day version. But in this last season, he cleaned himself up to match said present day appearance. Since Mr. Queen is joining City Hall, I’m sure he’ll continue that clean cut look. Chances are that the look from his Tweet will be from this next season’s flashbacks. He is headed to Russia, where we’ll see the last year from his “five years in hell.” After such, he’ll mash into his season one self. Will we see another story parallel to season one? Or will we move on to a different story to follow?
I mentioned my theory a while back that suggests they follow the Star City 2046 timeline introduced on Legends of Tomorrow. Such story had a seasoned, arm-less Oliver train Conner Hawke. In the Arrowverse, he was tweaked to be John Diggle’s son. Joseph David-Jones had spoken about the showrunners desire for him to return. Could he eventually join Amell, Echo Kellum, and Emily Bett Rickards as series regulars?
