The Civil War II comic’s first couple issues have already made their own immense and soul-crushing fatalities, but fans can only expect more bloodshed of beloved characters for what’s to come next.
Teased by New York Daily News on twitter earlier, it was revealed one of the main Avengers will be biting the dust in the latest issue #3. In addition, the killer responsible is also one to be talked about.

We have further details on the event, but only if you appreciate massive spoilers. Otherwise, you may want to turn away from this:
It turns out the fallen Avenger is the Incredible Hulk himself, Bruce Banner. Despite being in check with his anger issues and meditation over the year, Banner unfortunately appeared to be losing control of the monster in him, and for that ended up annihilated for the safety of others.
Marvel Editor in Chief Axel Alonso explains the reaction following the territory entered in this story:
“Only two things are for certain: it will take a long, long time for our heroes to come to terms with his loss, and the circumstance surrounding his death will leave a huge scar on the superhero community.”
As for the one responsible? It was actually Hawkeye that delivered the blow to the head. As Banner was to unleash his rage into a road of death and destruction, Barton used a special arrow given to him by Banner himself recently, to mercifully kill him if such a catastrophic event was to unfold.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis comments on the drastic and tragic stakes that are made with the issue:
Fans may be outraged, and there are probably ‘Hawkeye’ writers who I’m very good friends with who will also be offended. But the point is that everything that happens in this issue is in character when you discover the hows and whys and wheres.”
However, knowing the common writing and “surprises” of comics over the years, this could easily be a trend of huge reaction for the fan base, from Superman’s healing coma to the Superior Spider-man plot. After all, it was only recently the internet was all the rage over Captain “Hail Hydra” America. What future does that hold for the not-so-jolly (or living, for that matter) green giant?
Right now I can tell you this is the real deal. I can’t speak for the future, I honestly can’t, who knows what will happen? But I already have plans for the body (in upcoming issues.)”
