A 2024 horror movie was recently added to Netflix – and it’s already dominating the streaming platform’s charts. It’s a great way for the film to follow its theatrical release last year where it earned $83.6 million on a $30 million budget.
It’s not the biggest run at the box office, but it’s a good start for the film to develop a strong following. Now it’s evident that this is becoming the case, especially on streaming, as the film has reached the number one spot on Netflix.
At the time of this writing, it’s clear that Netflix subscribers are eager to check out this 2024 horror movie now that it’s easily available for streaming. As mentioned, this is a good sign that this particularly unique venture is working out as a cult classic in the making and at the top spot.
The film, titled Trap, is one of the latest directorial efforts from director M. Night Shyamalan. It stars Josh Hartnett as an unidentified serial killer who is tricked to attend a concert guarded by high-security. As it turns out, the concert is a trap, one designed to catch this notorious serial killer and reveal his identity.
Trap received mixed reviews at the time of its release but it has continued to develop a cult following due to its combination of horror, comedy, and the interesting scenarios that Josh Hartnett’s character finds himself in while trying to escape the traps laid out for him. While it will never be one of Shyamalan’s biggest movies, it certainly has the potential to be one of his biggest cult films.
