Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are finally having the opportunity to see “Marvel’s First Family” join the MCU. Though the character Reed Richards was previously teased with a variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, played by John Krasinski, this is our first proper Fantastic Four team set in the MCU. Fans can finally see the new actors in action with the first official trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps shared below.
As mentioned, John Krasinski played the first version of Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic to appear in a MCU film. Now, in the footage below, fans can see Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm aka The Thing.
Here’s the official The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer:
Marvel Studios has spent the last several years preparing fans for the Fantastic Four. While the studio was hard at work finding the right people to bring the project to life, audiences were treated to the aforementioned cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Additionally, the studio referenced 2005’s Fantastic Four and 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer from 20th Century Fox with an appearance from Chris Evans in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Evans, also known for playing Captain America in the MCU, reprised his role as Johnny Storm aka Human Torch for his small role in the Deadpool sequel. The character met with an untimely demise, however, proving that the MCU would finally be getting their own, fresh takes on the beloved characters. And it’s for the best, as now that Marvel Studios has access to the library of characters formerly owned by 20th Century Fox, fans will get to see a version of the MCU that’s more faithful to the comic books than ever before.
Matt Shakman directed The Fantastic Four: First Steps from a screenplay written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, Josh Friedman, Cameron Squires, Eric Pearson, and Peter Cameron. It absolutely took plenty of people to make this new adaptation work, but hopefully Marvel Studios will deliver what fans have been waiting for.
The all-new movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated reboot and any other MCU details as we have them. For now, it’s nice to finally have our first official teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
