The all-new video game Marvel Rivals dropped on December 6, 2024. In the time since, the free-to-play title has grown in popularity, with availability and cross-play across all platforms like PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. As such, players are excited for the game’s upcoming additions, and it seems as thought a text bug might’ve just caused a leak for the next characters being added to Marvel Rivals.
The video game Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 third-person hero shooter. The game makes use of Marvel‘s wide variety of characters, and as of this writing, there are 35 characters from Marvel Comics available to play. Of course, fans are always eager to get to play their other favorite heroes, and that seems to be the plan for the game’s developers.
What’s not part of the plan, however, is the recent text bug which surfaced on the game. In fact, it’s this very bug that some players believe might leak upcoming characters that are now expected to be added to the title. While the possibility of these characters being added should be taken with a grain of salt, it is an interesting situation as shared via Reddit.
As you can see below, u/BobboTomato shared a screenshot from the video game. “All the text in my shop was replaced with ‘THE POWER OF ANGER,'” they write in the post’s caption. “Has this happened to anyone else?”

“If anyone knows why this happened I would like to learn lol,” the user added in the comments section. While it’s unclear why exactly this particular glitch occurred, it does seem to tease a possible new character being added to the game. Specifically, given their association with anger, some users believe it means Red Hulk as depicted in the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World.
While it should be taken with a grain of salt, as mentioned, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if Red Hulk were added to the game. Especially to tie-in with the upcoming MCU film. What’s more, however, is that this could mean other characters and skins being added to Marvel Rivals based on Captain America: Brave New World.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Marvel Rivals as we have them. In the meantime, players can still enjoy the video game on the aforementioned platforms PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Only time will tell if this potential leak turns out to be true and whether or not these characters will be added to play in Marvel Rivals.
