The Scream film franchise is set to refocus on Sidney Prescott, the iconic final girl played by Neve Campbell, for its upcoming seventh installment. As such, the new Scream film will also expand on Sidney’s family, and that includes her new daughter played by Isabel May.
Details regarding this new character are scarce, but Sidney was revealed to have children during the events of 2022’s Scream. After her absence in Scream VI, however, we’ll now be seeing more of what happened to her since the events of Scream 4. This means catching up with her and her new children.
The news that Isabel May will be playing Sidney’s daughter, however, was shared via Deadline. Other cast details have yet be confirmed other than the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott. Courteney Cox, who has played Gale Weathers in all six previous Scream films, is also expected to return – but has yet to have signed on.
The upcoming horror film sequel will notably exclude Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Barrera having been fired from an earlier iteration of the production due to controversial social media posts regarding the Israel-Hamas war. Jenna Ortega left the project not long after, citing schedule concerns as the reason.
In any case, Scream 7 had a rough start, but things seem to be moving along smoothly now, especially with casting underway. Hopefully more Scream 7 cast details will come forward now that Isabel May has been revealed as Sidney’s daughter. Additionally, hopefully that will give us additional information regarding the film’s plot details.
Scream 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on the upcoming sequel as we have them. It’s exciting to see these new casting details come out, especially considering the importance of revealing Sidney’s daughter after all this time.
