Major Hollywood actor Al Pacino has stepped forward to describe some surprisingly deep details from his life. In particular, Al Pacino opened up to share his own near-death experience and further state that “there’s nothing there” after death.
It’s quite a statement, one that he shared in a recent profile with The New York Times. According to Pacino, he discovered this revelation after contracting an infection in 2020. It was a tough year for all of us, and according to Pacino, at the time he felt “unusually not good.”
The situation worsened when, while waiting for a nurse, Pacino describes himself “sitting there in my house, and I was gone. Like that. I didn’t have a pulse.” Essentially, Pacino was dead, but fortunately he was able to be resuscitated.
“I had about six paramedics in that living room, and there were two doctors, and they had these outfits on that looked like they were from outer space or something,” Pacino continued. “It was kind of shocking to open your eyes and see that. Everybody was around me, and they said: ‘He’s back. He’s here.’”
He further denied having seen any “metaphysical ripples” as described in a question from NYT’s David Marchese. Pacino, referencing Hamlet, insists that there is nothing to see.
“I didn’t see the white light or anything,” Pacino added. “There’s nothing there. As Hamlet says, ‘To be or not to be’; ‘The undiscovered country from whose bourn, no traveler returns.’ And he says two words: ‘no more.’ It was no more. You’re gone. I’d never thought about it in my life. But you know actors: It sounds good to say I died once. What is it when there’s no more?”
It’s certainly a serious perspective on the matter, though many people tend to have had different accounts of their own near-death experiences. In any case, it’s nice to see the Al Pacino survived this near-death ordeal and that he’s still doing well today.
