James Gunn and Peter Safran have been planning out the DC Universe, otherwise known as the DCU, which will include a variety of interconnected films and shows based on DC Comics. Many characters will be fan-favorites that have already appeared in feature-film adaptations. However, there’s one such character – known as Lobo – that’s currently rumored to appear in an upcoming DCU project.
Lobo is an alien bounty hunter that’s been featured in a variety of DC projects outside of the comics, including Superman: The Animated Series and Young Justice. His violent attitude and biker aesthetic has made him an iconic foe and sometimes antihero. Now, as shared by CBM via insider @MyTimeToShineH on X, Lobo has a chance of appearing in a new movie.
Of course, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. Additionally, the character won’t be receiving their own movie – at least at this point in time. But it could be the first step in having more appearances for Lobo staged throughout the DCU. And, at some point, perhaps a project of his own to thrive in.
The rumor merely states that Lobo could first appear in the DCU with the upcoming movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It would certainly make sense for the character to appear in, especially given the cosmic ramifications of a character like Supergirl. Her solo movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
As for who could portray Lobo, that remains to be seen. Aquaman actor Jason Momoa was strongly believed to have acquired the part following the abandonment of the ill-fated DCEU. However, without an official announcement at this time, we’ll have to see what happens on that front.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the potential appearance of Lobo and any other updates for the DCU as we have them. Fans would certainly love to see Lobo find his way onto the big screen, however, so let’s see if the possibility ever comes to fruition.
