The Mortal Kombat movie franchise, based on the hit video game series of the same name, was successfully revived with 2021’s Mortal Kombat. As such, fans are ecstatic for the release of Mortal Kombat 2, and now some new details have been reportedly leaked online following an alleged test screening.
As shared below, via @PhysicalMedia_ on X, a number of details have been reportedly revealed. A few of these details are expected – for example, there’s said to be “a lot of deaths” along with “great fight sequences” and “lots of gore.” However, fans also get some information regarding the actual plot of the film.
Though specifics weren’t revealed, it’s been said that “it’s a Johnny/ kitana movie.” Fans are no doubt going to be excited by this, as Johnny Cage was one of the most requested characters for the 2021 film. Now that he’s going to be in the sequel, and played by Karl Urban no less, it should be great to see what he can do as a central character.

Of course, these details have yet to be officially confirmed. However, given what we know about the film, and what we’ve seen with its predecessor, it’s not exactly a stretch to assume Mortal Kombat 2 will be gory, offer plenty of fight scenes, and even include lots of screen time for fan-favorite characters like Johnny Cage and Kitana. Hopefully more official news will be released soon.
