Disney fans often take the time to revisit the studio’s classic movies, no matter how well-known or obscure. It’s become especially easy to do so with the addition of Disney Plus. Nevertheless, some viewers have been outright stunned by a classic Disney movie which features a rather inappropriate scene.
The scene occurs during the movie Blank Check. For those unfamiliar with the movie, the plot revolves around 11-year-old Preston Waters (Brian Bonsall). He receives a blank check and uses it to buy a house. Obviously this sets the rest of the plot in motion, and it offers a fairly sensical story from there.
What has viewers stunned, however, as you can see below, occurs later in the movie. It happens to be a scene with 31-year-old Karen Duffy who plays a bank teller and undercover FBI agent named Shay.
If you’re unclear where this is headed, Preston attempts to have a romantic relationship with Shay. Of course, she’s twenty years older than him, and it’s certainly an inappropriate subject for this kind of Disney movie. Nevertheless, it seems to get worse, when Shay kisses Preston and tells him she’ll go on a date with him “in six years.”
If it wasn’t bad enough that he’d only be 17 by the time of this date, and she would technically be 37, they even share a kiss together. And no, this isn’t just a kiss on the cheek – they directly kiss one another on the lips. It’s a moment that understandably stunned viewers that weren’t expecting such an interaction.

anyone else remember the movie Blank Check where a grown ass woman goes on a date with an 11yo jus cuz he seems to be rich. and then they have a sultry montage of them dancing and getting wet at the lacma fountains. and then she reveals she’s an FBI agent but still kisses him

Of course, not all viewers thought the scene was inappropriate. In fact, some even tried to defend Preston’s kiss with the much older Shay. Overall, it’s certainly led to some interesting discussions on social media.
