Actor Dwayne Johnson has delivered some exciting blockbuster performances over the years, and he’s set to do so again with the upcoming holiday-themed action film Red One. However, the behind-the-scenes stories behind the film have started to pour out – and they’re far from jolly. In fact, Dwayne Johnson is being accused of some massively unprofessional behavior in a new report.
As shared by The Wrap, the report begins by claiming just how late Dwayne Johnson would be to the set of Red One in addition to other alleged examples of unprofessional behavior.. The outlet shared claims from insiders allegedly close to the production “that Johnson showed up as much as eight hours late to set on the movie.” This forced “the crew to shoot around him on some days.”
Furthermore, one insider claimed that this has become something of a habit for Johnson, who they claim pees in a water bottle to save time. Here’s what they had to say regarding that issue which reportedly has many crew members upset:
“On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom,” the insider claims. “He pees in a Voss water bottle and his team or a PA has to dispose of it.”
In addition to calling Johnson’s habits on the set of Red One “a f-king disaster,” another insider claims “Dwayne truly doesn’t give a f-k.” However, “two sources close to the production and one close to Seven Bucks all insisted that Johnson averaged no more than one hour late to the ‘Red One‘ set.”
Similarly, some say that the budget ballooned to a whopping $250 million, partly due to Johnson being late to the film’s shoots, while a source close to Amazon and MGM claim that it’s “completely normal for there to be budget fluctuations within 15% of the target, which is exactly what we experienced.”
Ultimately, we’ll just have to see how this situation develops. As for now, the film is still scheduled for a release later this year on November 15. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
