The 2022 horror film Speak No Evil, otherwise titled Gæsterne, is receiving a new take in the form of a remake from Blumhouse. As you can see below, the first trailer for Speak No Evil teases a horror movie that’s just as dark and brutal as its predecessor.
James McAvoy plays a demented doctor, and father, that in the trailer is revealed to be rather upset with his children. In fact, he becomes angry at them for how they choose to perform “Cotton Eyed Joe.” Of course, this is only one step into the dark territory that this film is no doubt headed.
In addition to McAvoy, the cast of the film also includes Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, Alix West Lefler, Aisling Franciosi, and Daniel Hough.

Hopefully more glimpses from the film will be released in the near future. As for now, this newly-released trailer is an tease for this new iteration of the fan-favorite original. Especially now that viewers can see how McAvoy will be portraying his character, horror fans are no doubt way more interested in seeing this upcoming remake.
Jame Watkins both wrote and directed the film. Fans may recognize his works which include Eden Lake and The Woman in Black. The screenplay is based on the 2022 Danish horror film Gæsterne, written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup.
The film is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse, Paul Ritchie, and executive produced by Beatriz Sequeira for Blumhouse, Jacob Jarek, and Christian Tafdrup.
