A24 has been one of the top providers for unique and successful horror hits for years now. As such, fans will no doubt be excited to know that We’re All Going to the World’s Fair director Jane Schoenbrun is about to stun the world with her next A24 endeavor that’s being called in its newly-released trailer a horror “masterpiece.”

This is emphasized in one of the quotes featured throughout the trailer, calling the film “a one-of-a-kind masterpiece,” with another line calling it “one of the most original films of this decade.” And, if the rest of the trailer is any indication, then the quotes might just be completely accurate.

The footage is fitted with several examples of 1990’s nostalgia, surreal images, and a dreamlike atmosphere. It perfectly captures the early years of staying up late to watch television that so many young adults can relate to today.

Here’s the official trailer for the new A24 horror film I Saw the TV Glow:

The premise for the new film is shared as follows:

“Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.”

The cast of the new film stars Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine alongside Helena Howard, Danielle Deadwyler, Amber Benson, Ian Foreman, Michael Maronna, Conner O’Malley, Emma Portner, and Danny Tamberelli. I Saw the TV Glow also features appearances from Lindsey Jordan, Fred Durst, Haley Dahl’s Sloppy Jane, and King Woman. It’s being produced by Emma Stone for her Fruit Tree banner.

I Saw the TV Glow is set to have a release in theaters on May 3, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news regarding the latest horror updates and the release of I Saw the TV Glow as we have them.
