A number of exciting horror projects are in the works for 2024. Now, as you can see in the trailer below, one of the first upcoming titles that fans can look forward to is the upcoming NEON production Longlegs.
The new film stars fan-favorite actor Nicolas Cage as a serial killer in the film, while Maika Monroe will be playing an FBI agent. Additionally, Osgood Perkins serves as director on the production, which should excite fans of his previous works which include The Blackcoat’s Daughter and Gretel & Hansel.
The film, which is said to be “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers,” does appear to be a clever throwback to a style of film we don’t see very often anymore. The official synopsis for the “R-rated” offering is as follows:
“FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”

It’s definitely exciting to see not only director Osgood Perkins back with another thrilling horror film, but now to see him work with such stars as Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe. Cage has starred in a number of hits that more recently included Mandy, Willy’s Wonderland, Pig, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Monoroe on the other hand is recognizable for playing in such fan-favorite modern horror films as The Guest and It Follows.
In addition to Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, the cast of the film also includes Alicia Witt and Blair Underwood. Cage produces the film with his production company Saturn Films, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Longlegs and other upcoming horror titles as we have them. For now, this is a great proper look at the film and it’ll be exciting to see more.
