The Halo video game franchise is recognized across the globe as one of the biggest brands of all-time. It took many years for a proper live-action adaptation to hit screens. Of course, there were many divisive reactions when it finally happened. Now the star of this adaptation, Pablo Schreiber, has confirmed that they made “a huge mistake” when shooting a sex scene for the Halo television series.
The Halo television series is an original production created for the streaming service Paramount Plus. Actor Pablo Schreiber plays the iconic Halo character Master Chief in the show. Of course, there were many liberties taken with his character that put video game fans into a frenzy. One such example is the aforementioned sex scene.
Now, according to Schreiber himself, even he regrets doing the sequence for the show’s first season. Here’s what he had to share about the moment while speaking with SFX Magazine regarding the Halo series:
“The decision to make the connection between Makee and John a romantic connection was a huge mistake,” he bluntly admits.
In fact, he confesses that even at the time he felt the Halo sex scene was a mistake, and that he tried to fight against having any kind of sex scene in the series between his character and Makee:
“I felt it was a huge mistake at the time and I argued against it and fought against it,” he adds. “But I am who I am. I don’t write the scripts. I only give my opinion. It wasn’t listened to.”
It’s certainly disappointing that Schreiber’s opinion wasn’t acknowledged. Especially when so many other fans and viewers felt the same way.
