One year has passed since MCU actor Jeremy Renner suffered a near-fatal accident. Now, however, he seems to be doing quite well – as he’s even returned to work.
As you can see below, Renner’s co-star Emma Laird from the series Mayor of Kingstown shared an exciting image on her Instagram story. In turn, he re-shared the image on his own story. She initially tagged Jeremy Renner and added the following caption:
“Back with my favourite guy next week.”
Renner added his own caption when he re-shared the image:
“It’s happening.”
It’s exciting to see that Renner is already recovered enough just one year later to return to acting. He no doubt missed working as much as his fans missed seeing him. Now that things are getting back on track, however, it shouldn’t be much longer before we see Mayor of Kingstown return to our screens.
The first season of the series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, premiered in 2021. Though critics weren’t fond of the series on Rotten Tomatoes, it did receive a high audience score. This streak continued with the show’s second season in which the audience score was even higher. One can hope that a potential third season, then, could once again win audiences over.
In addition to Jeremy Renner as the titular character, aka Mike McLusky, and Emma Laird as Iris, the cast also includes Hugh Dillon, Yalor Handley, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, and Aidan Gillen. Renner is also an executive producer on the series with Dillon, Sheridan, Antoine Fuqua, David Glasser, Ronald Burkle, Bob Yari, and Michael Friedman.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Jeremy Renner and his return to acting as we have them. Hopefully he continues delivering great performances that fans can enjoy. For now, the first two seasons of the series are available to stream via Paramount Plus.
The third season of Mayor of Kingstown has yet to receive a release date.
