The cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four movie is finally being put together. In addition to Pedro Pascal, who is in talks to portray Reed Richards in Fantastic Four, a new update suggests that an Oscar winning actor is being eyed next.
This report comes via insider Jeff Sneider. Of course, while it should be taken with a grain of salt, he claims that the information comes from the same source that told him about Pascal before the news was released. As for the character the actor could be playing, it’s none other than Galactus.
Sneider also acknowledges that actor Antonio Banderas was previously in the mix for Galactus. However, Javier Bardem is now believed to be “the frontrunner,” if his schedule works out for the part. Otherwise, it’s possible that Banderas could make his way back to the top.
Sneider reminds that the talks with Javier Bardem are far from final, but that “he is Marvel’s top target,” so we’ll have to see how this Fantastic Four situation develops. As for now, we know that Pedro Pascal will likely go through with being the film’s Reed Richards, which means the rest of the cast should follow shortly.
A number of surprising actors have been discussed for roles in the new Fantastic Four film. It’s clear that Marvel has high expectations and that they want only the best for Marvel’s “First Family.” Of course, the villains are also an important piece, especially with Galactus being one of the comics’ biggest foes. Hopefully we’ll have more information on that front soon.
The upcoming installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to be directed by Matt Shakman from a screenplay penned by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
Fantastic Four is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on May 2, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for additional updates as we have them.
