    ‘It Follows’ Sequel ‘They Follow’ In Development With David Robert Mitchell & Maika Monroe

    The 2014 horror movie It Follows was an immediate success with fans. Now, nearly ten years later, it’s been announced that a sequel titled They Follow is on the way. Additionally, It Follows writer/director David Robert Mitchell is returning to helm the project, and star Maika Monroe is also returning.

    NEON announced the new sequel, and they “will introduce the title to international buyers this week at AFM, with principal photography beginning in 2024.” This means we should have more news soon as production begins next year.

    Plot details at this time are being kept under wraps, but with the film’s original star Maika Monroe returning, it will no doubt once again follow her character Jay Height. And knowing that the first film’s writer and director will be returning – this should be a promising continuation of that film’s story. One that, with a title like They Follow, should hopefully provide some groundbreaking revelations about the film’s lore.

    For those unfamiliar, It Follows revolves around Monroe’s Jay as she’s stalked by a supernatural force that’s passed on via sex. If she’s unable to pass it on herself, then the supernatural force will kill her, and ultimately make its way back down the line. It’s an interesting concept and it seems to imply that the new film will tackle it from a larger perspective. Hopefully we’ll have more details in the near future.

    As for now, it looks like the poster art captures the vibe of the original movie quite well. With production set to begin in 2024 – it’s definitely an exciting time for fans.
