Marvel Studios has a number of highly-anticipated MCU projects lined up for Phase Five. This, of course, includes both film and television projects. Unfortunately, it looks like there have been some shakeups, as one Phase Five project has been quietly removed.
The Disney Plus series WandaVision helped open up a number of possibilities for the MCU. It not only set the stage for Wanda’s appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but also the upcoming spin-off series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. There was another spin-off series announced, titled Vision Quest, which would have presumably explored more of White Vision from the end of WandaVision.
As you can see below, however, it looks like the Phase Five Marvel project has quietly disappeared. Jac Schaeffer and other writers previously attached to the project no longer have the series listed on their WGA profiles.

It’s unknown what exactly happened to the project. Especially as the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes clearly had an impact on the studio’s lineup, it’s possible that they caused the series to be dropped altogether. Otherwise, insider @CanWeGetToast suggests that the series has simply evolved. Because Agatha: Darkhold Diaries was previously announced as Agatha: Coven of Chaos, it does seem like Marvel is open to changing their projects throughout development, and this insider claims that Vision Quest has evolved into Children’s Crusade.

This is a popular storyline from the comics and it does seem to tie into what we know about Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Of course, we’ll just have to see how things continue to line up and evolve. Especially as the MCU finds its footing again following the recent strikes and other such issues.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional MCU updates as we have them. Hopefully we’ll have more concrete details regarding the future of Vision Quest in the near future.
