The SAG-AFTRA strike is still ongoing in addition to the WGA strike. All members of the unions are expected to comply with certain rules as a result. As for celebrity Selena Gomez, however, it looks like she may have just broke one of the rules of the strike.
Selena Gomez plays a part in the new Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. Though as a rule of the strike, actors cannot promote their acting work – even on social media. It’s this particular rule that Selena Gomez seems to have broken after having shared a behind-the-scenes video from the set of the series on Instagram.
It’s worth noting that the video didn’t feature Gomez explicitly speaking or telling fans to view the series. But she did tag the show’s official Instagram account according to Variety. The post then “generated over 1.1 million likes in 15 hours before it was pulled from Gomez’s profile” following some negative comments.

As such, there is a chance that Selena Gomez could face consequences for the post due to the strike. Though it’s unclear if she actually did break any rules. Furthermore, SAG-AFTRA has declined to comment on the matter at this time. So we’ll have to wait and see what could happen to Gomez or if she’ll be forgiven for the post.
The third season of Only Murders in the Building is currently airing via Hulu. The new season began on August 8 and it’s expected to run until October 3. In addition to Selena Gomez, the cast of the series also includes Steve Martin and Martin Short.

On the other hand, Gomez also has the chance to focus on her music career, in which she faces no restrictions as long as none of the music interferes with SAG-AFTRA strike rules during this time.
