Loki has become one of Disney Plus’s most successful Marvel shows. It set the stage for Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror who has been a major part of the franchise ever since. Now a new report claims that a popular variant of the Kang character will be reappearing in Loki Season 2.
The report, which comes via Cosmic Circus, alleges that Jonathan Majors would portray He Who Remains once again for the new season. Furthermore, this won’t just be footage from his role in the first season. He’ll be appearing in brand-new scenes shot just for this new chapter of the hit MCU series.
The report says that “scenes featuring He Who Remains are not repurposed from the first season finale, but rather new scenes taking place at the Citadel at the End of Time and the Void.”
This, they claim, will make the appearance something of a “full circle” moment for fans. For a season that takes place right after the first season leaves off, then, it should be an exciting piece of storytelling for MCU fans. Of course, being that this is something of a rumor, it should be taken with a grain of salt. But it certainly wouldn’t be surprising considering how massive of a character Kang the Conqueror is supposed to be. Especially knowing that Jonathan Majors is set to reprise his role as Kang and his many variants in Loki.
The cast of Loki Season 2 will once again feature Tom Hiddleston as the titular character. The cast also includes Kate Dickie, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Rafael Casal.
The first season of Loki is currently available to watch on the Disney Plus streaming service. Fans will be able to stream Loki Season 2 on October 6, 2023.
